Combined with a bit of imagination, glass can provide the ideal method of adding a professional and unique feel to your premises. Using state of the art print technology combined with high quality multi-purpose films allows The Window Film Company to deliver the exact performance and appearance requested.

The world of video games is a highly visual world, dominated by incredible examples of design, creativity and imagination. It was therefore no surprise when a game developer wanted to introduce examples of their amazing work throughout their offices.

The initial requirement was for a form of manifestation, required for application to several glass partitions. Manifestation is a legal requirement for glazing of a certain size and is designed to make glass visible, thus preventing accidents. The manifestation element was fulfilled by using The Window Film Company’s crystal etch frosted film, a popular choice for manifestation as it provides the necessary contrast between the glass and the background.

The main and most visually stimulating part of the job was the creation of three colourful characters from one of the company’s popular educational video games. Two of the characters were to be installed onto glass partitions, with the final illustration required to provide an element of decoration for a solid door. After discussions with the client, it was agreed that the two designs for the glass would be printed on and cut from frosted film. The Window Film Company’s Frostbrite range of frosted film is a highly durable and long lasting film, making it ideal for use in high traffic areas such as corridors. Using a UV printer, it is possible to print designs in vibrant colours that will be visible from both sides of the glass, whilst also delivering an element of privacy.

The Window Film Company’s in-house design team provided proofs for each element of the job and once signed off, the printing and cutting commenced. Some of the graphics were to be installed across multiple panes of glass, meaning that the artwork needed to be set up, printed and cut perfectly to ensure that the design ran smoothly across the panes, incorporating the small gap between them.

The creation of the manifestation and graphics required absolute precision to allow for the door handles, hinges and other mechanisms that were part of the partitions and doors. With the film printed and prepared, the installation was carried out by one of The Window Film Company’s experienced and fully qualified fitting teams. The installation took place at a time that allowed the fitting to take place with the minimum of disruption to what is a busy London office.

The finished product saw the office meeting manifestation legislation in a stylish fashion, with the presence of three large illustrations providing a unique and impressive feature, bringing to life some of their colourful creations to give the office a playful yet professional feel.
