A TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE WITH WALLPAPER

Nov 14 2014

Digital wallpaper is the ideal way of transforming walls and other surfaces into bespoke, professional looking features. This versatile material was chosen by Buckingham University who wanted to decorate two of their walls with striking black and white images.

The Window Film Company print and supply a range of decorative products, with digital wallpaper an increasingly popular choice. The material starts life as a completely white product which is then printed onto to create the desired appearance. To ensure the best possible reproduction of the supplied graphics, The Window Film Company use state of the art print technology and inks that deliver a sharp, crisp finish.

Printed wallpaper benefits from being tough and durable,
making it suitable for high traffic areas. With the University hosting thousands of students every day, this was an important aspect when choosing the material. The wide format printers used to create the wallpaper can print graphics of virtually any size, with the only real limitation the quality of the original artwork. In this case, the University were able to supply the images at an excellent resolution, enabling them to be printed at full to ceiling size without any pixilation or reduction in quality.

All work carried out by The Window Film Company is prepared in-house, allowing for a rapid response time when deadlines are tight, whilst also ensuring that all print can be quality checked before being installed. The wallpaper for this particular job was to cover two walls almost 4 metres wide and 3 metres high and once printed, checked and cut, was despatched with a team of The Window Film Company’s installers for fitting.

All installations are carried out after liaison between the Operations Team and the client. Whilst the quality of the product and finish is of paramount importance, the logistics of the job are equally vital, with each job carefully planned to meet the requirements of each individual customer. The work was carried out a time and date agreed to ensure minimum disruption, with the wallpaper applied quickly, efficiently and with a perfect finish.

The result was an instant transformation. Where once there were plain, uninspiring walls, there were now two striking photographs, depicting fascinating scenes from years gone by. The walls were transformed into eye-catching piece of artwork, creating both an impressive and interesting environment.
