MAKING AN IMPRESSION WITH IMPRESS

Jul 10 2015

Printed graphics are a stylish and professional way of promoting a brand or displaying information, with a number of print methods and techniques available to deliver a range of different finishes. Among the possibilities are one-way graphics, created using patented Contra Vision® techniques.

As a licenced printer of Contra Vision, The Window Film Company is able to create and install one-way graphics and was approached by a Somerset based charity to deliver exactly that. Their Clevedon office benefitted from a large glass frontage, comprising two sizeable panels; one of which had been identified as the ideal location for promoting the charity and its brand.

The brief was very clear – to have a full colour graphic visible on the external side of the glass without blocking the view from the inside out. This was achieved by utilising the Contra Vision Impress™ method of printing, which involves printing layers of lines on top of each other. The graphical element was printed in a four colour finish first, followed by a layer of black lines before being completed with a layer of white lines. Once complete, the effect is a bright vivid display on the exterior face of the glass, with vision maintained from the inside of the premises.

As well as providing a bespoke, bold, fully branded frontage, the graphics also served to prevent vision into the premises, an important consideration for those working inside and visiting the charity. Privacy was also required for the second of the windows, with a more standard solution chosen for what was the smaller of the two panes. The brief for this window was similar, with privacy required from the external side of the glass and vision possible from the inside out. For this section of the project, high reflective silver was the chosen product.

The reflective nature of the film provides one-way daytime privacy, with the external face of the glass taking on a silver, mirrored appearance that serves to block the view. Those inside the property are still able to see out, with good levels of natural light also allowed to pass through the glass.

Both parts of the job were installed quickly and efficiently by one of The Window Film Company’s fully trained fitting teams with the finished project delivering a bright and vibrant demonstration of branding alongside the sleek and stylish appearance of the reflective one-way privacy solution.
