THAMES VALLEY THIRD

Nov 20 2015

The Window Film Company has been recognised with a prize at a prestigious business awards ceremony.

The Thames Valley Business Awards took place on Thursday 19 November and The Window Film Company were awarded third place in the SME of the year category. The awards encompass businesses across the entire Thames Valley region, with the awards presented by BBC news anchor Huw Edwards.

The SME of the year award was a competitive and keenly fought category, with entrants judged on business performance, growth, innovation and contribution to the business community.

Micky Calcott, founder of The Window Film Company was at the gala event, hosted at the Madejski Stadium in Reading, to accept the award and afterwards spoke of his pride at the achievement:

“We’d obviously have liked to have won the first prize, but to get this recognition is something that myself and my team can be hugely proud of. These awards cover a large geographical area, so to be shortlisted and then awarded a prize is very pleasing.

It’s been an exciting and busy year for us, so to have this recognition as 2015 draws to a close makes all the effort worthwhile. We’ve moved into larger, custom created premises, invested in new print technology, expanded the size of our team and widened our product offering. We’ve begun to see our products stocked by renowned names such as John Lewis and have even made our TV debut on QVC! We’ve also entered into partnerships with established designers to ensure we offer the most stylish ranges of window film available, as well as our established functional and architectural films.

2015 has also seen our turnover continue to grow, so all in all it’s been an excellent year. We’re looking forward to heading back to the awards in 2016 and we’ll be doing all we can to make sure we get top spot!”

The Thames Valley Business Magazine Awards are open to every company in the Thames Valley region, home to some of the most dynamic and successful companies in the UK. The awards aim is to recognise profitability, innovation and employment as well as contribution to the local community.
