COLOUR, CLEAR AND FROST

When a global PR firm wanted to add a bespoke range of graphics to their internal glass partitions, The Window Film Company was only too happy to help.

The stylish London office boasts a number of floor to ceiling glass partitions, serving to create meeting rooms and other defined workspaces whilst maintaining a stylish and contemporary feel. To enhance the appearance and functionality of the glass, the client required a threefold solution; to provide an element of privacy, to add decoration and to clearly mark the name of each room.

The privacy part was to be achieved by applying frosted film up to a specific height, blocking the view should a meeting be taking place. Frostbrite frosted film gives glass the appearance of acid-etched glass, so it is already an attractive finish, but on this occasion an extra element of design was required. Using different ink combinations, a subtle repeated pattern was created on top of the frost, giving the frosted film a bespoke and impressive finish.

Each of the partitions was also to feature a set of coloured graphics, with each colour matching a specific pantone from the client’s corporate palette. The graphics were printed on optically clear vinyl, the choice of material meaning that when the graphics were installed over the frosted parts of the glass, the pattern in the frost remained visible. Details such as this were vital to the finished appearance, with each element of the artwork carefully considered and created, so it was important that each different part of the installation complimented the other. Time was taken to ensure that the correct materials and appropriate colours were used, with several samples provided for testing and approval before the printing and preparation took place.

The final component was cut lettering which was to be applied to each door, identifying each room to staff and visitors. The lettering was created from computer cut white vinyl, the bold white colour providing the necessary contrast and making it clear exactly which room was which.

All of the graphics were cut and printed by The Window Film Company’s in-house print and design team using state of the art UV print technology, the highest quality ink and printable media. Each part of the project was finished by hand and checked before being despatched for installation, which was carried out by one The Window Film Company’s fully qualified and experienced fitting teams.

The finished project left the office looking welcoming, interesting and professional, the bespoke graphics and film incorporating the company brand throughout the location in an unobtrusive but impressive style.
