VIVID VINYL

Sep 18 2015

Window film can immediately transform the appearance of not just glass, but a host of other surfaces too. Advances in product technology mean that an increasing number of materials are suitable for application in a range of different environments and locations. Wise to this fact, The Window Film Company were able to complete an impressive, multi-surface installation at a West London office.

The Window Film Company were approached to print, cut and install a range of brightly coloured graphics, with the proposed design spanning glass partitions and painted walls. The graphics were designed to provide an added element of style and colour to the office, home to a successful creative agency, with the vivid design sweeping across glass partitions and down a large staircase.

The complexity of the installation meant that a full survey was required ahead of the project commencing. The glass partitions featured clamps and other fittings, whilst the walls featured bannisters – all of which needed to be taken into consideration ahead of creating the custom graphics.

With the survey complete, The Window Film Company’s in-house graphics team created a fully detailed proof, providing an exact representation of how the graphics would flow, incorporating the various fixtures and fittings. At this stage it was agreed that the graphics would be created from printed vinyl. This product was chosen for two reasons. Firstly, it can be computer cut, ensuring a perfect precision finish. Secondly, it is suitable for application to both glass and painted walls.

The clear vinyl was printed using state of the art, UV print technology, delivering a crisp, bright, vivid finish, exactly matching the colours required by the client. Each piece was then computer cut to the specifications detailed, before being hand checked  to ensure 100% accuracy and a perfect finish ahead of installation.

With the graphics created, a date for installation was agreed. This is the job of the operations team, who liaised closely with the client to deliver an installation date and time that resulted in the minimum of disruption for what is a very busy office. The project was completed by one of The Window Film Company’s fully trained and vastly experienced installation teams. Fitting was an involved process, with several elements such as the bannisters being removed to allow for the best possible install and finish.

Once complete, the area was completely transformed; the previously blank walls and glass now alive with colour and style.
