FITNESS FITTING FOR HEAT REDUCTION

The Window Film Company offer a range of heat reduction window films, each designed to provide the ideal balance between aesthetic appearance and high performance, ensuring there is sure to be a solar control film to meet the needs of your project.

The majority of solar control films have a reflective appearance; it’s this that delivers the heat rejection - the film bounces or reflects away a percentage of the sun’s energy before it can pass through the glass and add to the internal temperature. This means that once applied, the exterior of the glass will appear reflective during daylight hours. For certain properties, a full mirrored effect is neither desirable or appropriate; for example shop owners would almost always want customers to see into the store. For these situations, The Window Film Company offers a range of  less reflective films.



For this project, an installation at an Anytime Fitness gym facility, it was agreed that Light Reflective Silver would be the most appropriate choice. The premises benefits from an extensive glass frontage, and while this provides a stylish and sleek look, it does also mean that excess heat and glare can be an issue.

Light Reflective Silver can reduce excess heat by up to 55% and can also cut down on glare by up to 48%, all without blocking significant light levels and allowing for a view from the inside out during daylight hours. The external appearance takes on a lightly reflective appearance (this is required to deliver the heat protection) without fully blocking the view from the outside in.



The film was applied by a team of The Window Film Company’s expert installers, with the window film applied to the inside face of the glass. Whenever possible, this is always the preferred choice as it allows for the longest possible useful life for the film.

Once in place, the film was effective immediately, delivering glare reduction and solar control, while also providing an external appearance entirely in keeping with the modern look of the gym.
