An application of custom created full colour window film from The Window Film Company has delivered a decorative upgrade and met manifestation marking requirements throughout a hospital in Northwood.
Window film was required to provide corridors with a more welcoming and appealing appearance, while manifestation markings were also required for a number of panes of large glass.
Manifestation markings are required by Building Regulations with the aim of making glass, usually large panes such as doors and partitions, immediately visible to the naked eye. By placing markings that provide a contrast with the background at specific points on the glass, panes are easy to spot and accidents, injury and damage can be avoided.
The main focus of this project centred on the application of custom created and printed film for application throughout a number of corridors throughout the hospital. These were high traffic, busy areas, so it was important that the chosen solution was long lasting and durable, as well as being fully customisable. With these considerations taken into account, it was agreed to use a solid white matt vinyl.
Vinyl films from The Window Film Company are available in a range of solid colours, and can be used on glass and other flat surfaces to deliver privacy or to change the appearance. This range of vinyls have been developed to be tough and hard wearing and are often used for external applications. The white version of this film also provides an ideal surface on which to print, providing the perfect way of creating a bespoke display.
The client required a linear design, featuring bands of colour in various thicknesses, designed to add a fresh and bright new look to the hospital corridors. Colour references and the appropriate dimensions were supplied to The Window Film Company’s print and graphics team, who printed the colours in the exact shade onto the white vinyl.
The film was then applied throughout the corridors by a team of The Window Film Company’s expert window film installers.
The end result was the introduction of a fresh and colourful new look throughout the corridors, with the bands of colour running uniformly along the walls, delivering a long lasting decorative upgrade.
