The Window Film Company were engaged to supply and install a heat reduction solution at a gym facility in Essex, where the large expanse of glass at the front of the premises was resulting in excess heat build-up internally, making it uncomfortable for gym visitors and staff.
Excess heat build-up is common in buildings that have a large number of windows or sizeable panes. Standard glass will allow heat to pass through the glazing throughout the day, with the result being a steady increase in the temperature. During spells of warmer weather, this can result in the internal environment quickly becoming uncomfortably hot.
Older mitigation methods such as blinds are ineffective as they still allow the heat to pass through the glass as well as blocking the view from the inside out, while air conditioning systems are expensive to install and maintain. An application of window film from The Window Film Company will deliver effective heat reduction while still maintaining a view from the inside out during daylight hours.
The chosen film for this project was Optiview 15; a highly effective solar control window film that has been specially developed to deliver a lower level of internal reflectivity.

The film was applied to the necessary areas by a team of The Window Film Company’s installation teams, with the film effective immediately as soon as it was in place.
