Frosted window film is the ideal way of delivering a decorative upgrade alongside a privacy solution for windows and glazing at home or in the office. It is long lasting and durable, making it suitable for demanding, high traffic areas, and can also be printed onto and cut to deliver bespoke solutions.
White Stuff is a hugely popular clothing brand, with 124 stores in the UK alone. The retail giant also has a number of offices, including a modern premises in South London. The stylish space boasts a number of large glass partitions, and The Window Film Company was approached to deliver a solution for three separate requirements:
- The meeting of manifestation marking requirements.
- Partial privacy for glass.
- Bespoke signage.
Manifestation markings are required by Building Regulations and relate to large panels of glass such as glazed partitions or doors. The regulations dictate that glass of a specific size must feature distinct markings at specific places on the glass to ensure that the glazing is easily visible to the naked eye – serving to guard against accidents and potential injury.
Manifestation markings for glass should provide a contrast with the background, making frosted window film the ideal choice. Once in place, Frostbrite frosted film gives standard glass the appearance of acid-etched or sandblasted glass, delivering the necessary appearance for a compliant manifestation marking.
Its appearance means that Frostbrite is also an effective and stylish way of delivering privacy; one of the other requirements for this project. Frosted film will deliver privacy from both sides of the glass, while also upgrading the appearance of glazing to take on a contemporary new look making it a popular choice for privacy in both commercial and residential settings.
Frostbrite can also be cut and printed onto to make it a bespoke window film, featuring text, graphics, imagery or branding elements. On this occasion, the requirement was for the film to feature different room names, allowing staff and visitors to easily find their way in the office. This was achieved by computer cutting the required text from the film using computer cutting technology in The Window Film Company’s print and graphics department.
Having been cut to feature the necessary text and trimmed to exactly the right size, the frosted film was fitted to glass partitions and doors throughout the office by a team of The Window Film Company’s expert film installers. The film was positioned centrally, ensuring that it met the manifestation marking requirements, while also delivering the necessary partial privacy.
