The Window Film Company was approached by a church in Guildford, who wanted to transform a standard frosted window into a bright and beautiful display, using custom created graphics to create a stunning stained-glass effect.
The panel in question was a single, full height pane, over 2 metres tall and a metre wide. The glass was already frosted to deliver necessary privacy, so it was agreed that the graphics would be printed onto optically clear window film. This type of window film is long lasting and durable and provides the perfect surface on which to print.
The Window Film Company’s in-house graphics and print team have a range of state of the art equipment at their disposal, including a number of highly advanced printers, allowing for the recreation of the graphics in perfect, bright vivid detail. The team utilised a “double strike” print process, which means the graphics were effectively printed twice, directly on top of each other to ensure a brilliant, vibrant reproduction of the colourful design.
Once printed, the film was computer cut to ensure a perfect finish, before being checked by hand as part of a final inspection and despatched with a team of The Window Film Company’s fully qualified fitters.
The film was fitted at a time and date organised by the Window Film Company’s operations team, with the experienced fitting team able to complete the installation perfectly. The end result was an immediate transformation, with a previously uninspiring panel of glass upgraded to deliver a bright, colourful and inspirational stained-glass effect.
