A school in Milton Keynes is benefiting from a more comfortable learning environment following the installation of high performance solar control window film by The Window Film Company.
The project involved the installation of High Reflective Silver window film to 115 windows, covering a total of 155 square metres of glass in order to help combat the problem of excess heat. To minimise disruption, the work was carefully scheduled and completed by a team of The Window Film Company's expert installers during the school holiday period.
The specialist window film was selected to address common challenges faced by educational buildings with large expanses of glass, including the build-up of heat during warmer weather, year-round glare and UV exposure. The film rejects up to 78% of solar energy, helping to keep classrooms cooler and more comfortable during warmer weather.
In addition, the film reduces glare by up to 79%, making it easier for pupils and staff to use screens, whiteboards and teaching resources throughout the day. It also blocks up to 99% of potentially harmful UV rays, helping to protect occupants as well as furniture, flooring and interior finishes from fading.
Importantly for the school, the film delivers these benefits without obstructing views to the outside. This helps maintain bright, welcoming learning spaces while improving overall comfort.
Alongside its performance benefits, the reflective silver finish complements the school's modern architecture, providing a clean and contemporary external appearance.
