The Window Film Company has fitted high performance, stylish window film throughout a modern luxury home in London. The project shows how solar control window film can cut heat, glare and UV damage without losing natural light, while also meeting aesthetic appearance requirements.
The property has extensive glazing, with large panels of glass forming a central part of its architectural design. Glass on this scale lets in plenty of light, but it can also cause problems:
- Excess heat: Large or numerous windows can make rooms uncomfortably warm.
- Glare: The angle of the sun changes through the year, so glare has the potential to be continually uncomfortable
- UV damage: UV rays are the biggest single cause of fading to furniture, flooring, artwork and fabrics.

Solar control window film from The Window Film Company tackles all three problems, but the modern appearance of the home and its super stylish design meant that appearance was a key consideration too. It was vital that any heat reduction film used would have to be in keeping with the overall look of the property, as well as delivering exceptional performance.
After discussions with the client, it was agreed that Medium Solar Bronze was the most appropriate film for the project. Once in place, the film gives the glass a warm and sleek bronze tinted effect, while still allowing decent levels of light to pass through the glass - perfect for the contemporary design of this stunning home. In terms of performance, the film delivers the following:
- Reduces excess heat by up to 62%
- Reduces glare by up to 62%
- Rejects up to 99% of UV rays, helping to fight fading.

The film was installed by a team of The Window Film Company's fully qualified, highly experienced window film fitters throughout the property, to over 35 large panes of glass. Some of the glazing was hard to reach, so we used scaffolding to access certain areas, including a large rooflight.
The film was effective as soon as it was in place, with the tinted finish suiting the ultra modern look of the home, which still benefitted from excellent levels of natural light. Excess heat, glare and UV rays were all reduced, serving to make the home more comfortable and helping to protect the interior from potential fade damage
