The Window Film Company prints and installs bespoke, full colour graphics to create impressive and memorable window displays. This exciting project saw the transformation of the windows of a London café to play an eye-catching part in a month-long festival of light.
Requirement
As part of the Enfield Festival of Lights, a festival launched to celebrate the diverse and creative nature of that particular part of London, The Window Film Company was engaged to print and install a specially commissioned illustration to the glass frontage of a popular café.
The illustration, called “Commercial Wilding”, was designed by talented artist Victoria Thompson, who created the colourful piece to highlight the importance of nature, with the design incorporating a host vividly illustrated range of flowers and plants. As part of the festival, The Window Film Company was approached to bring the design to life, printing and installing the beautiful design so it could be enjoyed by visitors to the cafe during the day, while being illuminated from inside during the evening, delivering a stunning display for passers-by and visitors to the area.
Solution
Having been supplied with the original digitised artwork and the dimension of the large window, The Window Film Company’s print team were able to use state of the art, wide-format print technology to recreate the design at full size, printing the beautiful artwork onto long lasting and durable optically clear window film.
The print team utilised a double strike print technique, effectively printing the design twice, to ensure that the display was as vibrant and striking as possible, before being installed by a team of The Window Film Company’s fully qualified and experienced installers.
Result
Once in place, the design delivered a stunning new decorative feature for visitors to the cafe, with sunlight naturally illuminating the display during the day before being lit from the inside to create a beautiful showcase in the evening.
