The Window Film Company has completed the print and installation of full colour graphics at a restaurant in London, creating an eye-catching, branded display, using Frostbrite frosted window film.
Requirement
Louie’s is a popular restaurant based in Hoxton Square, London and as an important part of the launch and fit out, a full colour display was required for the large glass windows that form the front of the restaurant. The requirement was for the recreation of a stunning, large-scale graphics that had been created by graphic illustrator and designer Kate Philipson.
Kate’s designs are bright and vibrant, described as a cross between pop and and comic book art, so it was important that the print provided a perfect, vivid recreation of the artwork, in turn delivering a striking and unique appearance for the exterior of the restaurant.
Solution
It was agreed that the best solution for this project would be to print in full colour onto Frostbrite frosted window film.
Frostbrite is The Window Film Company’s high performance frosted window film, popular as a privacy solution for glass, gives glass the appearance of frosted glazing once installed. It is long lasting and durable, making it perfect for use on the restaurant façade, and crucially provides an excellent material on which to print.
The artwork was supplied to The Window Film Company’s print and graphics team, who then used one of their wide-format printers to print the design directly onto the frosted film, using a two-strike process (effectively printing two layers of colour) to deliver the most vibrant and striking finish possible.
Installation
The printed window film was applied to the exterior face of the glass by a team of The Window Film Company’s fitters, with each panel pre-prepared and cut to the exact size necessary.
Once in place, the film delivered a stunning display, showcasing the striking, custom-created graphics and creating a memorable, professional, exciting and enticing appearance for the restaurant frontage.
