This large-scale printed graphics installation was delivered for Nickelodeon ahead of the opening of their flagship retail store in Leicester Square.
The two-storey premises occupied a highly visible corner position and featured extensive glazing across three sides of the building. A solution was required to enable internal refurbishment to proceed in privacy while also building anticipation and awareness ahead of the official store launch.

Requirement
Nickelodeon required a solution that would:
-
Provide full external privacy during the fit-out phase
-
Be applied externally due to the building layout
-
Showcase bold, full colour graphics featuring iconic characters
-
Wrap around three elevations of the building
-
Be completed ahead of the official announcement
-
Be installed with minimal disruption to neighbouring businesses

Solution
A bespoke external printed graphics solution was specified using durable printable vinyl, selected for its suitability for outdoor use and its ability to reproduce vibrant, high-impact colour.
The artwork was supplied to The Window Film Company’s in-house graphics team, who worked from detailed window schematics to produce accurate proofs for each individual pane. Given the variation in glazing sizes, divisions, and access considerations, careful planning was required to ensure the graphics aligned seamlessly across all elevations.
State-of-the-art UV printing technology was used to produce crisp, vivid imagery that accurately represented Nickelodeon’s distinctive visual identity.

Installation
The installation was carefully project-managed to meet tight timescales and site constraints in a busy central London location.
Working closely with the main contractor, a two-day installation window was agreed to ensure the work was completed ahead of the store announcement. Due to the proximity of neighbouring businesses, early morning starts were scheduled and installation sequencing was planned to minimise disruption.
Key aspects of the installation included:
-
External application across a two-storey frontage
-
Installation across three elevations in a high-footfall area
-
Use of experienced, qualified fitting teams, including PASMA-trained operatives where access equipment was required
The graphics were installed progressively across the frontage, creating a visible transformation from an unoccupied space into a bold and eye-catching feature within Leicester Square.
Can window film be removed and reapplied?
