As part of the creation of a brand new, custom built facility, The Window Film Company was appointed to deliver a range of functional, branding and signage solutions for the Stoltman Strength Centre.
The project focused on improving comfort, enhancing branding and creating clear internal wayfinding, while maintaining the bold and professional look of the facility.
The Stoltman Strength Centre is the custom built, eye-catching home of the world famous Stoltman Brothers. Located in their hometown of Invergordon, Scotland, the World's Strongest Brothers created the facility as a base for their own training while also providing a space for others to begin or continue their strength and conditioning journey.
Requirement:
The Window Film Company's involvement centred around three key requirements:
- A heat and glare reduction solution for a large glazed frontage
- Custom branding for glass and external surfaces
- Bespoke internal signage and wayfinding
The facility features an imposing main building with a full glass frontage. This design creates a striking visual appearance and allows natural light to flood the interior, while also providing clear outward views.
However, large areas of glazing can also create challenges. Excess heat and glare can make it difficult to train, work or film comfortably. While heat levels vary depending on the season, glare can be a year round issue due to changing sun positions and light angles.
The Window Film Company was tasked with installing a window film that would reduce glare, maintain natural light and complement the sleek design of the facility. The solution also needed to support the Stoltman Brothers' content creation, as the space is frequently used for filming for their popular YouTube channel and other platforms.
In addition to the glazing solution, the glass frontage was to feature a large Stoltman logo to enhance the building's visual impact. The Window Film Company was also asked to apply branding to a large storage container and create internal signage for improved navigation throughout the facility.
Solution:
To reduce heat and glare, Optiview window film was installed to the internal face of the glazing. The film delivers immediate performance benefits, reducing glare by up to 86 percent. The reflective external appearance works in the same way as sunglasses, filtering harsh sunlight and improving comfort throughout the year.
Optiview is a dual reflective window film. This means it provides a reflective external finish while maintaining a more neutral appearance from inside. Internal reflectivity is significantly reduced, which was essential for filming and content creation within the space.
This dual purpose solution improved comfort while also providing a suitable backdrop for video production. The mirrored external appearance also enhanced the building's modern and professional look.
A large Stoltman "S" logo was created using Amber 81 window film. The graphic was precision cut and applied across multiple panes of glass to create a bold, unified design. To ensure maximum vibrancy, the Amber 81 film was applied before the Optiview film. This backing method increased brightness and visibility, ensuring the logo stood out from both inside and outside the building.
Additional branding was applied to a large storage container, reinforcing the Stoltman brand across the entire facility.
For internal signage, solid vinyl lettering was cut using the Stoltman Brothers' font. This created consistent, professional wayfinding throughout the centre and made it easier for visitors to navigate the space.
Installation:
The installation process was carefully planned to ensure minimal disruption to the facility.
Optiview window film was applied to the internal face of the glazing, ensuring long term durability and consistent performance. The Amber 81 branding was installed first, followed by the Optiview film to achieve the required visual effect.
Precision cutting and alignment ensured the large Stoltman logo spanned multiple glass panels seamlessly. Internal signage was then installed across doors and key areas to provide clear guidance for visitors and members.
The result was a clean, professional finish that enhanced both functionality and aesthetics.
