Translucent Window Films for Glass
Add privacy to your glass with window tints and frosted films
The Window Film company offers a wide range of products, including translucent window film for the home. Each film is easy to install, long lasting and guaranteed to provide you with a stylish, effective solution to a number of glass related issues.
Translucent window film is designed to block the view without blocking the light, perfect for delivering a contemporary looking privacy solution, with the most popular option being The Window Film Company’s Frostbrite frosted window film.
Frosted window film for privacy
Frostbrite frosted window film from The Window Film Company is easy to apply to your windows, and once in place will give your glazing the classic, contemporary appearance of acid etched glass or sandblasted glass. As well as giving your windows a beautiful new look without the need for expensive replacement glass, the film will provide an immediately effective privacy solution, blocking the view from both sides of the pane without sacrificing natural light.
The film has been specially developed to let as much light through as possible, in recognition of the fact that one of the main benefits of windows is the daylight that is allowed to pass through and into your home, naturally illuminating your property. The specially developed properties of Frostbrite mean that you will enjoy excellent light transmission and privacy, with the view blocked from both sides of your glass – the only caveat being that outlines or shapes of items placed very close to the filmed glass may be visible.
Translucent window films for decoration
While plain Frostbrite delivers a beautiful new look for your glass, you can further improve the appearance of your glazing (while still achieving the privacy you require) by choosing a patterned window film. You can choose from cut or printed designs, with both options created to your exact size specifications, providing you with a genuine bespoke product, created specifically for you and your window.
Our collection of cut patterns feature a host of beautiful and eye-catching designs, with the design precision cut from the film, leaving the patterned area clear. Please note that this means there will be areas of the film that will not deliver privacy. The Window Film Company also offers a stunning collection of white printed designs, again using Frostbrite frosted window film, with the design printed in brilliant white ink.
The Window Film Company has also partnered with a number of talented illustrators and designers to offer a collection of striking designer ranges. Again, these films are created to your exact size specifications, meaning it is no possible to bring a genuine piece of designer style, made just for you, into your home.
How to install translucent window film
Installing window film from The Window Film Company is a straightforward process and can be successfully achieved with no prior experience and nothing more than a few standard household items. Each order is supplied with easy to follow printed fitting instructions and comes complete with a free application squeegee to help with the process. You will also find step by step video installation instructions at the bottom of each product page.
To begin the window film fitting, thoroughly clean the window. This is an important first step as it serves to get rid of any dirt or particles on the glass that may impact the installation by remaining between the film and the pane. Once the window is as clean as possible, create a soapy water solution by adding a few drops of washing up liquid to a plant spray bottle full of water. Use the spray bottle to coat the window pane with the solution and then remove the backing sheet from the film and use the spray bottle to cover the exposed surface of the film.
With both the window and the window film covered with water, take the film carefully to the glass and allow it to flow into place. The soapy water will act as a slip solution, allowing you to move the film around on the glass until it is in the exact position you require. Then, use the plastic application squeegee to push all of the remaining water and moisture to the edge of the panel, ensuring a bubble free installation. Use a clean cloth to mop up the excess water and leave the film to cure.
