NEW LOOK FOR SURREY HOSPITAL

The Window Film Company has completed the print and installation of a collection of vibrant images to improve the appearance for a Surrey based hospital.

The Window Film Company uses state-of-the-art print technology and a range of advanced printable media to make and install custom created graphics for use in a range of situations and locations. This project saw the printing of a number of bright and vibrant images for application to a number of windows in a large Surrey hospital.

The project was undertaken to improve the internal appearance of a lengthy corridor in a hospital in Chertsey. The corridor featured a large bank of windows, with the majority of them suffering from a blocked view. This lead to an uninspiring and unwelcoming environment, something that the hospital was keen to address.

The brief was to recreate a number of colourful images, each depicting a vibrant scene or location, with each image spread across a number of panels to create a more welcoming and pleasant environment. The Window Film Company was able to suggest a specialist white vinyl film as the best option; a long lasting and durable film that can be printed to feature full colour graphics. The product also benefits from being hard-wearing and resistant, vital for use in such a big facility, while it is also easy to maintain with no special care requirements – the printed film can be cleaned in exactly the same way as a standard window would be cared for.

The hospital was able to provide The Window Film Company’s in-house print and graphics team with the chosen imagery and the measurements of each pane, including the dimensions of the frames, allowing the graphics team to allow for gaps when printing, ensuring that each design would flow seamlessly from pane to pane.

The artwork and dimension allowed the team to create each panel, using state-of-the-art print technology to recreate the artwork in perfect detail, before being precision cut by computer cutting machinery to ensure total accuracy. Each pane was then checked by hand before being signed off for installation by a team of The Window Film Company’s fully qualified and hugely experienced fitting teams.

The Window Film Company’s dedicated operations team worked closely with staff and the hospital to deal with logistics; with a primary focus being the timings of the installation – it was important that the work was completed with the minimum of fuss and disruption. With the timings agreed, the fitting team were able to complete the project on time, to the high standards expected and demanded by both the client and The Window Film Company.

Once installed, the look and feel of that area of the hospital was instantly transformed, with the addition of colour providing a more pleasant look and feel for staff, patients and visitors.
