THE WINDOW FILM COMPANY SETS OLYMPIC STANDARD

Jun 15 2012

This summer promises to be a memorable one with the 2012 Olympics taking place in London in just a few weeks. Here at The Window Film Company we are as excited as anyone about the impending festival of sport, so it was a huge privilege to be contracted to carry out a large scale job at the newly built Olympic Park.

The work was carried out at the Media Centre, which over the course of the games will play host to around 20,000 broadcasters, photographers and journalists.

The Window Film Company supplied two installation teams for the project, who worked exclusively at the site for a full week. Two types of film were applied to the impressive new structure; Natural Daylight and coloured vinyl.

Natural Daylight is a high performing film that helps prevent solar gain, filters out harmful UV rays and reduces glare. The application of this film will ensure a comfortable working environment for the vast numbers of journalists and broadcasters that will be using the facility during the games, by ensuring the internal temperature remains pleasant and making it easier to work with laptops and computer screens, by reducing glare.

Elsewhere in the complex, black coloured vinyl was fitted to a number of windows where absolute privacy is required. The solid block of colour restricts the view from both directions, ensuring 100% privacy.

With summer now upon us, the sun can cause a number of unwanted side effects wherever there are windows. As at the Olympic Park, we can help. No matter the size or location, we have a film that will suit, so if you are worried about glare affecting your view of the Olympics on TV at home, or if your office is too hot, get in touch. We’ll be happy to help.
