By applying window film to glazing, it is possible to completely transform the appearance without the expensive and time consuming process of fitting replacement glass. Frostbrite frosted film from The Window Film Company is a versatile product that can be used to meet a range of requirements, as well as delivering a number of different appearances and effects.

The Henbury School in Bristol were keen to make the most of a set of double glass doors with full length side panels, and they approached The Window Film Company with a list of three main requirements;  Privacy, branding and full colour images.

The versatility of Frostbrite frosted film means that each of these three goals could be met with a single application of film.

Frosted film gives glass the appearance of sandblasted or acid-etched glass, preventing vision from both sides whilst still allowing light to pass through the glass. Once applied, frosted film will obscure the view completely, although the outline of objects in very close proximity to the glass may be visible. In the case of the school the frosted film was applied to the entrance doors, preventing vision directly into the premises, maintaining a light, airy feel inside.

Using state of the art equipment, The Window Film Company are able to computer cut patterns from frosted film. This process makes it possible to cut bespoke designs from the film; ideal for incorporating logos and other branding elements into glass. The Hensbury School logo was provided to The Window Film Company’s in-house graphics team, who were able to scale and cut the logo to fit the exact size required. The finished effect saw the cut logo providing a small vision panel, with the remainder of the panel obscured.

The final requirement was for some large scale images. The school provided two colour images, chosen to show a taste of what the school offers pupils. The photos were printed directly onto the frosted film, and once installed turned the panels into an eye-catching and welcoming display. The film was installed by The Window Film Company’s professional installers at a quiet time, agreed well in advance between the operations team and the school.
