FROM CUTTING FILM TO CUTTING CAKE...

Oct 08 2013

Staff at The Window Film Company took time out from printing and cutting film last week to create (and eat!) an array of delicious cakes, as they raised over £350 in their annual coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

A charity close to the heart of staff, The Window Film Company have a tradition of raising funds for Macmillan, with this event just topping the figure raised last year.

Members of staff worked hard to bake a mouth-watering range of cakes and biscuits and the effort was clearly much appreciated as visitors as well as staff made a series of generous donations in return for a taste.Staff visited other local offices with a range of the cakes on offer, as well as raffle tickets for Macmillan’s Autumn raffle.

Event organiser Sophie Roberts was delighted with how the day turned out. She said:

“The cakes were fabulous, and quite rightly raised a nice sum of money for Macmillan. People worked really hard and put a lot of effort into their creations so it was good to see people getting into the spirit of things and being generous. Having said that, it was no great hardship to spend the day nibbling on cake, anyone on a diet will have had to have the day off!”

The money raised from the cake sale was added to the money collected via both a static tin and a confectionary machine, both of which see regular donations throughout the year. The final figure raised was £367.77.For more information on MacMillan Cancer Support, please visit www.macmillan.org.uk
