GETTING CREATIVE WITH COLOUR

Jul 04 2014

Window film is proving increasingly popular in providing a solution to a range of situations. Film can be used to solve heat related issues such as solar gain, glare and fading, it can provide privacy or create an additional layer of safety or security. Developments in film technology mean it can also be used for decorative purposes.

By computer cutting or printing onto film, it is possible to create stunning displays suitable for application to a range of surfaces and when a Kent based school approached The Window Film Company for a way to brighten up their windows, a range of options were presented. The school were clear that they wanted to add a range of vivid colours to their glazing, whilst also adding a bespoke element. The idea was to spell the name of the school using coloured panels, and The Window Film Company were able to deliver the ideal solution.

By printing onto optically clear window film, it is possible to recreate almost any design. In this instance, each panel would be printed in a vivid colour, with a single letter left clear. When placed in order on the glass, the panels would spell out the name of the school, creating an impressive, professional and welcoming environment for staff, pupils and visitors. For other parts of glazing, the requirement was simply to colour the glass. The Window Film Company’s range of rainbow films instantly transform the colour of the glass, without restricting vision or reducing light levels.

It was agreed that rainbow film would be fitted, with the printed panels created to provide an exact match with the coloured film ensuring uniformity of appearance throughout the school.

The end product was vibrant and attractive and was achieved after following a simple process. The initial enquiry was dealt with by an Account Manager, who once assigned will deal with the job throughout. The Account Manager is able to provide advice on film type and performance, as well as samples and quotes. With pricing and film choice agreed, the film is prepared and printed by the in-house print and design team, before the Operations team liaise with the client to organise a suitable installation time. This phase of the project is vital, especially when the glass is located in a busy location such as a school.

The final part of the project is carried out by one of The Window Film Company’s teams of expert installers. Operating throughout the UK, ach team is fully trained and vastly experienced, allowing them to carry out installations quickly and efficiently, whatever the location.
