THREE NEEDS, ONE VISIT

Window film can be used to solve an increasing number of issues, with the vast range of available options opening up opportunities to deliver stylish solutions to privacy, solar control, glare, safety and security. The Window Film Company offer products for each of these requirements, often installing differing products in the same building, dealing with multiple issues in a quick and cost efficient fashion.

A recent installation saw the meeting of three separate requirements. A Bedfordshire based engineering firm originally approached The Window Film Company with a list of three separate needs, each of which they hoped could be met with window film. We were of course, happy to help.

The first issue was heat. The Company's large headquarters boasts a number of large windows, ideal for allowing the maximum amount of natural light to pass into the building. There is a downside however and it quickly becomes apparent during the longer summer months. With the sun shining stronger and for longer, rooms with large windows can heat up very quickly, resulting in an uncomfortable environment for those inside. The knock on effects can include an uncomfortable workforce as well as increased energy bills, with air conditioning units working harder to maintain a moderate temperature.

The Window Film Company are specialists in the supply and install of solar control film and were able to recommend a reflective film that would reduce the solar gain immediately. The film works by reflecting away a proportion of the sun's energy, preventing the steady build-up of heat and ensuring an enjoyable temperature within. The film also provides added benefits, including cutting down on glare and slowing down the fading process - all achieved whilst maintaining the view outside and without sacrificing natural light.

Whilst a two-way view needed to be maintained for the majority of windows, privacy was required for a section of glass. By applying The Window Film Company's Frostbite frosted film, vision is blocked from both sides of the glass, whilst maintaining excellent levels of natural light. Once applied, the frosted film provides the effect of acid etched or sand-blasted glass delivering a stylish and elegant privacy solution.

The third and final part of the job was to incorporate the company logo into a number of panes. This was achieved by computer cutting the logo from Frostbrite frosted film, the result being a perfect reproduction of the company logo on windows throughout the premises, creating an impressive and professional looking feature.

In total over 35 panes were treated, with each pane a minimum of a square metre in size. The installation was completed in a single visit by one of The Window Film Company's fully trained installation teams, who were able to carry out the fitting with the minimum of disruption to what is a busy office.
