FORWARD THINKING

Glazing is commonplace in the office environment, with an increasing number of  premises featuring glass partitions and doors. Whilst the sleek, natural appearance of untreated glass delivers a contemporary style, glass also provides an opportunity to be creative.

A London based media organisation contacted The Window Film Company seeking a way of upgrading their partitions to include their branding and an element of colour. The partitions currently met manifestation legislation with an application of standard dots, but the company owners wanted something more unique and eye-catching to take their place.

Frostbrite frosted film is an excellent product for printing onto. The durable nature of the film means it is long lasting and tough, whilst it’s surface colour and finish makes it perfect for printing full colour designs and images onto. It can also be computer cut to recreate precision patterns and it was this technique that was employed to create the company logo in lieu of the existing manifestation across a number of glass partitions.

The logo artwork was supplied as a high resolution graphic along with the exact size of each glass panel that made up the partitions. The Window Film Company used the measurements to ensure that the graphic flowed perfectly from one panel to the next, taking into account the small gaps between each pane to recreate a seamless reproduction of the design.

As well as the logo, the client also wanted to add colour to the bottom section of the glass. The Window Film Company’s range of “rainbow” films can be applied to glazing to immediately change the appearance without blocking vision. A host of colours are available, with a tone matching the company’s corporate colour palette chosen for this work.

The blue rainbow film was applied to the bottom section of the glass, immediately delivering an added element of interest, design and style without blocking vision from either side of the glass. The coloured film complimented the printed graphics that were installed across the centre of the glass – carefully designed and positioned to meet the manifestation legislation that applies to floor to ceiling glass.

The completed project provided the office with a brighter more colourful environment whilst also delivering an added air of professionalism and brand identity.
