PRIVACY FROM PRYING EYES

Mar 27 2015

“The window seat” is often the most sought after place to sit, but it can often bring with it unwanted side effects. Whist windows provide a fantastic source of natural light and a welcome view to the exterior, they also of course allow a view from the outside in, and in a number of situations this isn’t appropriate.

The Window Film Company offer a range of professional privacy solutions and were approached by a London based office who were in need of a solution.

The Company’s office boasted several large to floor windows, an impressive part of the design that afforded the inhabitants with great levels of light as well as an uninterrupted view of the world outside. They were also part of the design of the office, giving it a sleek modern and professional appearance. They also provided a problem in as much as anyone walking past could see directly inside.

Contact was made with The Window Film Company, at which point the company was assigned a dedicated account manager. Having obtained a full understanding of the building and the situation, it was possible to make a product recommendation. On this occasion, a reflective film was suggested – The Window Film Company’s High Reflective Silver product.

The film works by displaying a reflective effect on the exterior of the glass, preventing vision to the inside, whilst still allowing a view to the outside. Whilst passers-by will see their own reflection as they walk past the glass, those inside the office will enjoy an uninterrupted view with minimal loss of natural light. This is all achieved with a sleek, mirrored appearance, in keeping with the modern look of the office.

In addition to privacy, high reflective silver delivers a number of other practical benefits. The reflective nature of the film provides protection against excess heat build-up – reflecting away a percentage of the sun’s energy before it enters the room and preventing it from causing overheating. The slight tint in the film also helps protect against unwanted glare, whilst also blocking up to 99% of UV rays – one of the main causes of fading and a major contributor to skin damage.

The film was installed by one of The Window Film Company’s team of fully trained and qualified installers, resulting in a flawless and efficiently executed application. The film was effective immediately, providing the office with much needed privacy as well as an impressive external appearance.
