PRIVACY WITH PRINT

Here at The Window Film Company we take pride in delivering glazing solutions that are as stylish as they are effective. We recognise the importance of delivering a product that looks as good as it performs, with our in-house design and print facilities allowing for the creation of bespoke window films and graphics.

The flexibility and performance of our products mean that we can deliver multi-facetted projects, with this job a prime example. It involved the meeting of three different needs with the application of one film; privacy, manifestation and branding.

The modern office benefits from a number of glass partitions, many of which form meeting rooms or enclosed work spaces. It was felt that these areas would benefit from privacy and a solution was sought. With an understanding of what was required, an Account Manager was able to suggest Frostbrite frosted film as the most appropriate choice. Once applied, the film gives glass the appearance of acid etched or sandblasted glass, serving to obscure the view from both sides whilst delivering a stylish and contemporary appearance.

An application of frosted window film would also meet the second requirement – that of manifestation markings. These are needed to meet building regulations and apply to glass of a certain height. The markings are required to ensure that glass is visible – untreated large panes of glass can be difficult to identify which can lead to accidents. Manifestation needs to appear at certain points and must provide a suitable contrast between the marking and the background.

The final element of the project was the inclusion of colour and graphics. The vision was to include quotes and brand elements that would result in the office taking on a truly bespoke look and a professional feel. Frostbrite frosted film is an ideal surface to print upon, with the graphics, supplied directly from the client, printed directly onto the film. The nature of the frosted film ensured that the graphics were replicated in bright, vivid colour, without blocking natural light – making sure that the meeting rooms maintained a bright and airy feel.

Each panel was printed at The Window Film Company’s Buckinghamshire headquarters before being fitted by one of the Company’s fully trained and experienced fitters. The work was completed expertly and efficiently, with the minimum of disruption to what is a busy office. The finished install saw the office transformed; the graphics giving the glazing a professional look, with manifestation requirements met and privacy assured.
