WALLPAPER INSIDE

Jan 08 2016

Intel is one of the world’s largest and successful technology companies, with offices throughout the globe. When the decision was made to upgrade their Wiltshire premises, The Window Film Company were engaged to supply and install a range of impressive full colour graphics.

Advances in printable media mean that previously neglected surfaces can now be updated to feature striking graphics. With a large number of storage cupboards throughout their Swindon office, Intel chose to take advantage of these decorative opportunities with an application of bespoke, full colour digital wallpaper.

Digital wallpaper can be applied to a number of surfaces, providing a quick and efficient way of giving walls, doors and other traditionally uninspiring surfaces a stylish new appearance. The paste free application process allows it to be installed quickly and efficiently, whilst it’s durable, long-lasting nature make it ideal for use in high traffic areas.

Intel identified one large wall (over 8 metres in length and almost 3 metres in height) alongside 62 individual cupboard panels that were to feature a number of eye-catching landscape images. The wall had a number of features including doorways and fire alarms that had to be taken into account, whilst there were small gaps between each cupboard panel that would also have to be considered when finalising the print – taking into account each gap was vital for ensuring that the image flowed perfectly across each panel.

Each image was supplied at a suitable high resolution, allowing The Window Film Company’s in-house graphics team to prepare each individual panel at exactly the right size and position. Each piece was printed using state of the art print equipment before being carefully checked and trimmed by hand to ensure each part of the print was of the high standard expected by both The Window Film Company and the client.

With the print complete, a suitable installation date was agreed. The Window Film Company’s dedicated Operations Team is responsible for the logistics involved in each job and on this occasion the time and date was a key consideration. With a large number of staff employed at the premises, carrying out the work at a time that would cause the minimum of disruption was important. With such a window of opportunity identified, the work was carried out by a team of The Window Film Company’s experienced and fully trained installers. The wallpaper for the wall was expertly fitted to take into account the various protrusions (fire alarms, light switches) and doorways, whilst care was taken with each of the remaining 62 panels, ensuring that the images were displayed perfectly across each of the affected areas.

The finished installation left the office with an immediately more vibrant look and feel, with the full colour images serving to give the premises a professional and welcoming feel; an environment befitting one of the most famous brands in the world.
