The Window Film Company carry out installations on a nationwide basis, but this particular job had a more global feel to it! After being approached to print and install graphics to a glass partition, a large format, full colour world map was installed across a number of floor to ceiling panels.

The design featured not only the impressive map image, but also text, providing information about the changing prosperity of certain areas over time. This meant that the design was an intricate one, and that the best way of achieving the perfect finish was to print the entire design onto optically clear film.

This method ensures that once printed and installed, only the printed areas of the film are visible, giving the impression of precision cut graphics. It’s an incredibly impressive finish and allows for the recreation of the most complicated designs with pin point accuracy.

The second part of the job was to ensure that the design stood out. This was achieved by employing a double strike print method, which sees the graphics printed twice, directly on top of each of the to create a vivid and striking finish. This method is achievable as The Window Film Company have state of the art UV printers as part of their dedicated print and graphics department, with equipment that is capable of printing onto not only window film, but rigid media too.

Samples of the print were created a and sent to the client for approval. The test prints allowed the project managers to examine the printed film in situ and to get an accurate feel for how the film would look when installed on the partition in question. With approval given, the panels were printed cut and prepared for installation.

Due to the size of the partition, the graphics were created in several large panels. It was then down to the skill of The Window Film Company’s vastly experienced and fully qualified installers to ensure that the film was fitted in a fashion that made the joins in the film as invisible to the naked eye as possible. As you can see fromt he image above, the finished installation delivered an interesting and eye-catching feature, that completely transformed an otherwise uninspiring glass partition. As well as the impressive visual impact of the graphics, the install also meant that the glass met manifestation regulations.
