FOOTBALL SHIRT FRIDAY 2017

Apr 28 2017

The Window Film Company’s Buckinghamshire HQ was awash with colour (and some questionable fashions statements) on Friday, as staff came to work in football shirts to help raise money for the Bobby Moore Fund.

Football Shirt Friday has become an annual event and has proved to be a successful and fun way of raising valuable funds for an important charity. The Bobby Moore Fund was set up after the death of the World Cup winning England captain in 1993, and is focussed on raising money for research into the prevention and treatment of bowel cancer. Since being founded the charity has raised an incredible £23 million, with funds donated on Football Shirt Friday a key contributor to this fabulous total.

The premise is simple. In exchange for a donation to the charity, colleagues are encouraged to wear a football shirt of their choice for the day and as you can see from the pictures, The Window Film Company team needed no persuading to don their club badges.

Rivalries were put aside for the day, with Manchester United and Manchester City shirts on show alongside those from North London adversaries Tottenham and Arsenal. There were some eye-watering examples of historic kits from Watford and Coventry City, while supporters of football from further afield will be pleased to note that the Hungarian national team and Cerezo Osaka from the Japanese J-League also featured!

Despite the huge variety of shirts on show, it really was a genuine team effort with every member of staff in the office on the day taking part and donating.
