TACKLING GRAFFITI WITH FILM

Dec 09 2022

Anti-graffiti window film from The Window Film Company is a cost-effective way of giving glass an extra layer of protection from vandalism.

Glass shopfronts offer a host of benefits. They allow customers to see inside, they allow for natural light transmission and provide a surface on which to add branding, graphics and signage. Unfortunately they can also attract less welcome attention, and if glass is damaged by graffiti it can be costly to fix.

Anti-graffiti window film from The Window Film Company mitigates against the negative impact of graffiti in a number of ways. The specially developed coating of the film means that in the event of graffiti being sprayed or painted onto it, it is easier to clean off and remove. If the graffiti takes the form of a more abrasive marking such as acid etching or scouring, then the film takes the form of a sacrificial barrier – protecting the glass from permanent damage. In this case, the film can simply be removed and replaced, a far quicker and more cost-effective solution than replacement glass.

Anti-graffiti window film is virtually invisible when applied, meaning that all the benefits of glass are maintained, with the film delivering a barely detectable layer of protection for windows.

This project saw the film applied to a number of shopfronts in a busy part of London, with over 70 linear metres of film applied to glass by a team of The Window Film Company’s expert installers.

Once in place, each of the shopfronts had immediate, virtually invisible protection from the costly and disruptive effects of graffiti and vandalism.
