SAFETY SECURED

Safety and security window film from The Window Film Company is an effective way of adding an extra layer of protection to glass in residential and commercial and settings.

Glass can be a fragile material and can be broken or damaged in accidental or deliberate circumstances. Whichever way glass damage occurs it can have a major impact, causing damage or potential injury, while compromised glass can have an obvious security issue. An application of window film, installed by The Window Film Company’s experienced fitters, adds a layer of added protection and peace of mind.

This project saw the application of safety window film throughout an extensive property in the South-East of England. Two types of film were utilised throughout the home, with one optically clear film applied to deliver safety and security, with the other having additional solar control properties for use in the conservatory.

Safety film from The Window Film Company works by adding a virtually undetectable layer of extra protection to glass, helping to protect it from accidental or malicious damage. It’s most important feature is what it does in the event of glass breaking. Untreated glass can simply shatter into shards and fall in on itself, potentially causing serious damage and injury. An application of specialist safety window film form The Window Film Company will ensure that if glass does break, it does so in a safe fashion, with the film serving to hold the broken glass in place, in the frame. This also ensures that gaining unlawful access through broken glass is more difficult and time consuming, delivering a clear security benefit.

As the images show, the film is virtually invisible when installed, delivering protection throughout the property, without changing the appearance of the glass, or blocking the view or natural light.

In the conservatory area of the home, a different variant of the same type of film was used; one that included a tinted element, included to deliver solar control properties. This film provides all the safety and security benefits described above, while also helping to reduce heat levels and cut down on glare. It does this by reflecting away a percentage of the sun’s solar energy before it can pass through the glass and add to the internal temperature, while also filtering out the harshest of the sunlight to reduce the impact of glare.

The project was completed by a team of The Window Film Company’s expert fitters, carefully cutting each panel to ensure a perfect fit on each and every pane throughout the home.
