GET TO GRIPS WITH GLARE AND BEAT THE HEAT

Heat reduction window film from The Window Film Company will help reduce excess heat during warmer weather, while also delivering additional benefits such as cutting down on glare.

The Window Film Company was approached by the owners of an office in Buckinghamshire, who were seeking a solution to their office overheating during warmer weather, with glare another ongoing issue. Both issues are common when buildings have a large number of windows. left untreated, glass allows solar energy to pass through the panes, steadily adding to the internal temperature. Window film from The Window Film Company slows down this process, thus stopping the rapid increase in internal temperature.

Solar control window film has a reflective daytime appearance and works by bouncing away a percentage of the sun’s solar energy before it can pass through the glass and add to the internal temperature. The film chosen for this project was Optiview 15, which rejects up to 75% of solar energy, while also reducing glare by up to 84%, all without sacrificing high levels of natural light or blocking the view from the inside out during daylight hours.

The way window film works means that it is a far more effective solution than drawing blinds or curtains, with these still allowing the heat to pass through the glass, while also blocking the view from the inside out. Window film is also more cost effective and environmentally friendly than installing air conditioning systems.

The selected window film was installed at the property by a team of The Window Film Company’s expert fitters, with the window film applied to the internal face off the glass to ensure the window film is effective for as long as possible. Once in place, the window film began to work immediately, with the exterior of the glass taking on a stylish mirrored effect.
