Warmer weather is usually welcome, but it can often lead to rapidly rising internal temperatures – making homes, conservatories, offices, shops and other locations unpleasant or uncomfortable. The Window Film Company supplies and installs specially developed, cost efficient and immediately effective heat reduction film – for use in both residential and commercial settings.
How does heat reduction window film work? While our window films have been scientifically developed to deliver the best possible performance, the premise is relatively simple. During daylight hours, the external side of the film takes on a mirrored, reflective appearance, and it’s this that serves to reflect away a percentage of the heat before it can pass through the glass and add to the internal temperature.
If the window film reflects away heat, will it make the inside of my premises cold? The film is developed to slow down the build up of excess heat; not stop warmth entirely, so it will never result in the inside of your home or office feeling unnecessarily cold. What it will do is reduce the amount of heat that is passing through your glass – the percentage and performance will depend on the exact window film you choose.
Won’t window film make my room dark? On a nice, bright day, you will still benefit from the nice weather – think of heat reduction window film as being like applying a light pair of sunglasses to your glazing. The film will alter the appearance of your glass, but it won’t make it feel unnecessarily dark. The exact light level transmitted will depend on the window film chosen and the position of your windows – and of course the weather outside!
Having taken all these factors into consideration, the owner of this stunning home got in touch with The Window Film Company to organise a fitting of High Reflective Silver window film. This is a highly effective heat reduction window film; it rejects up to 78% of the sun’s solar energy, while also cutting down glare by up to 79% and blocking up to 99% of potentially harmful UV rays. This film also has the benefit of being an excellent daytime privacy solution – the reflective appearance means that it is not possible to see from the outside in during daylight hours, while the view from the inside out is maintained.
Due to access restrictions, the film had to be fitted to the exterior face of the glass, with the installation utilising a specially developed external grade window film, specially designed to deliver top quality performance when applied to the outside of glass.
If you would like to discuss having heat reduction window film applied to your home, conservatory, office or workspace, please give us a call on 01494 794477 or email sales@windowfilm.co.uk. We’ll be happy to help you keep you cool this summer.
