The beautiful weather over the recent bank holiday weekend will, we’re sure, been have met with delight by those who were lucky enough to have a few extra days off work. We’re equally certain that it will have served as a reminder to many just how hot their conservatory or home can get when the weather hots up. It’s why we thought it was worth sharing a timely reminder that it doesn’t have to be that way…
Conservatory too hot?
The Window Film Company supplies and installs window film specially designed to deliver a more moderate and enjoyable temperature in your conservatory. We offer products for use on both glass and polycarbonate roofs, with each film specially developed to deliver maximum performance. While both differ in appearance (Supertint for glass will deliver a reflective external appearance while the polycarbonate version will deliver a look more in keeping with a frosted effect) – each film will not only keep the heat at manageable levels, but will also help cut down on glare and reduce the effects of fading.
Heat in the home
It isn’t just conservatories, orangeries and summer houses that overheat in warmer temperatures. Wherever there is glazing, there is a risk of a room overheating. The Window Film Company offers a wide range of solar control films, each with a different appearance and level of performance. The most effective solar control films have a reflective external appearance and work by reflecting away a percentage of solar energy before it has a chance to enter the room and add to the internal temperature.
This functionality means that window films provide a vastly more effective solution than curtains or blinds, both of which allow heat to enter the room instead of, like window film, preventing it from passing through the glass. An added benefit of window film over these more traditional methods is that once applied, it won’t block the daytime view or sacrifice natural light. This means that an application of solar control window film will allow you to enjoy a more moderate temperature, while still enjoying the view and the natural light your windows provide.
