Take Care Of Glare

Glare can be a serious issue all year round, creating a potentially unpleasant internal environment, having a negative impact on productivity and comfort. Window film is a cost efficient and highly effective solution.

Glare is a simple but damaging problem. Left unchecked, sunlight streams through glass and depending on the brightness or angle, the excess light can make it difficult to comfortably focus on screens or other tasks. This can result in the drawing of blinds, in turn blocking both the view and natural light – increasing the disruption and negative impact further.

The low-lying position of the winter sun can mean that glare is a particularly acute problem at this time of year, but help is at hand…

Glare reduction window film can be retro-fitted to the internal face of your glazing, with an external grade of film available if internal access isn’t possible. The film works by filtering out the harshest of the sunlight – think of it as a light pair of sunglasses for your glazing. The film has been specially developed to ensure that the glare reduction is achieved without sacrificing high levels of natural light or the view – with the film installed you will still be able to see out through the glass.

Window film for glare is available in a number of different grades and finishes, with each offering a different level of performance and aesthetic appearance. The most effective film will have a mirrored appearance, with High Reflective Silver reducing glare by up to 81%.

Getting the right film for your premises is of paramount importance to us and our team of account managers are on hand to answer any questions you have about our glare reduction window films. The majority of our anti-glare window films will also deliver additional benefits. If you suffer from glare, there’s a high chance that during the warmer months your premises will suffer with excess heat. An application of window film will help maintain a more moderate internal temperature without relying on air conditioning or drawing curtains or blinds.

UV damage can also be an issue; often going undetected before it is too late. Fading is caused by a combination of three main factors: UV light, natural light and heat, with UV being the primary contributor. The majority of glare reduction window films will also block up to 99% of harmful rays, helping to slow down and protect against fading.

So, there you have it. You don’t need to sit and suffer if you or your colleagues are struggling with glare. Give us a call on 01494 794477 and we’ll be happy to help. It’s easier than you think to make a big difference.
