Designer Departures At Birmingham Airport

The Window Film Company has experience of printing installing eye-catching graphics at a host of locations throughout the country including sports stadia, theatres, offices, shops and schools, with each project carefully planned to ensure the best possible finish and highest possible impact. Many of our installations are in locations frequented by huge numbers of people, with a recent project at Birmingham Airport.

This project was undertaken alongside our long term collaborator Kate Farley (our range of exclusive Kate Farley window film designs was recognized with a House Beautiful Award!) who was engaged to create a set of custom graphics for a number of large glass walls in the departure lounge, comprising 25 panels, each nearly 3 metres in height.

The graphics were a custom creation, designed by Kate Farley and featuring a host of iconic Birmingham landmarks. The Window Film Company worked directly with Kate, advising as to the proposed print process, allowing the design to be created specifically to achieve the best finish and appearance once installed.

With the design complete, the print was undertaken by The Window Film Company’s in-house graphics and print team, using state of the art print technology and the highest quality window film to deliver a pin sharp reproduction of the bespoke graphics. The film used was Frostbrite frosted film, a product that when applied to glass, delivers the contemporary appearance off acid etched or sandblasted glass. It also provides the perfect surface on which to print, providing both privacy and a new, stylish decorative addition to glazing.

Each panel was printed and carefully checked by hand ahead of being installed by one of The Window Film Company’s fully qualified and talented fitting teams. The complete result was a unique, eye-catching and impressive new look, helping to create a welcoming and pleasing environment for travelers waiting to depart the airport.
