Bikes and Bridges!

A number of The Window Film Company team have been taking part in a range of exciting events as they challenge themselves to raise money for charity.

Founder Micky Calcott spent around eight hours in the saddle has he completed the 2016 London to Brighton off road challenge. Micky undertook the 75 mile trial to raise money for the British Heart Foundation, and in talking of the event he said:

It was a really enjoyable but incredibly challenging event, taking in forest climbs, rocky paths and single track lanes – if there’s a type of terrain we didn’t cover, I’d like to know about it!

The event represents the furthest I’ve cycled in a day and I was grateful for the training I put in during the build-up, it definitely wasn’t a challenge to take lightly. Whilst I was delighted and proud to complete the event, the real reason for taking part was to raise much needed funds for a fantastic charity; the British Heart Foundation.”

Customer Services Manager Brian Stratford has also been busy, completing the 2016 Thames Bridges Trek, raising money for Asthma UK; the UK’s leading asthma charity. The 23 km route took in 16 of London’s most famous and iconic bridges. The trek started at Bishop’s Park in Fulham, with Brian striding over the finishing line some five hours later in Southwark.

The charity work isn’t finished there however; the rest of The Window Film Company team will be shaking off their disappointment at the apparent demise of the current incrantation of "The Great British Bake Off" to create and sell delicious cake for MacMillan Cancer Support.  The cake sale will take place as part of Macmillan’s annual “World’s Biggest Coffee Morning” event.
