Make the most of Manifestation

Manifestation is the classic “you don’t know you need it until you need it” product. The chances are, you probably didn’t know that whilst it is required by law, it also provides an opportunity to get creative and to give your glazing a stylish and professional new look.

When is manifestation required and what’s it for?

Manifestation is required as part of building standards and applies primarily to floor to ceiling glass. It is a safety feature, designed to make otherwise hard to detect glass visible,  thus avoiding accidents and mishaps.

What criteria must manifestation meet?

The manifestation must provide a sufficient contrast between the glass and the background, serving to make the glazing immediately obvious to the naked eye. The markings must be placed at specific locations, between 850 mm and 1000 mm and 1400 mm and 1600 mm from floor level. These locations have been designed to make the markings as easily visible as possible. The markings must be a minimum of 150 mm in height.

Bands of coloured film could be installed, or if privacy is a consideration, the entire panel of glass could be covered with a bespoke printed design or a standard, untreated film.
