Getting shirty for charity

Staff at The Window Film Company proudly displayed their colours on Friday 28 April, as they took part in the annual “Football Shirt Friday” event, helping to raise money for the Bobby Moore fund in the process.

The premise of the event is simple but effective. In exchange for a donation, colleagues are invited to wear a football shirt to work for the day. The money goes direct to the Bobby Moore fund, a charity set up in the name of the World Cup winning England captain to tackle bowel cancer. The former West Ham United defender died of the disease in 1993 and since then the fund, set up by his widow Stephanie Moore MBE, has raised over £23 million.

There were shirts from right across the footballing spectrum on show, ranging from North London rivals Tottenham and Arsenal to Watford, Coventry City, Manchester City and Newcastle United. Those unable to find a football shirt donned tops from other sports, ensuring they were able to play a part in a fun and valuable event.

The football theme is one that the team at The Window Film Company have been accustomed to in recent times having carried out work for Watford, Oxford United, Wolves and Chelsea among others. The projects have included applications of privacy film, branded manifestation and full size printed graphics, utilising diverse and durable products such as specialist brick vinyl and digital wallpaper.
