The presentation was used to explain the decorative possibilities that window film and associated products provide, with advances in media and print technology meaning that surfaces of all types and textures can now get the decorative treatment; whether that be for the purposes of office branding, incorporating imagery, or other design elements, signage or an aesthetic overhaul.
Speaking after the event Micky explained:
“Simply put, we’re now able to offer more than ever when it comes to decorative products and solutions. Previously difficult to decorate surfaces can now be updated easily and cost effectively, with wall coverings and options for windows and glass, making transforming a property easier than ever. It’s something we, as a company, are constantly excited about and it was great to have the opportunity to share what we’ve learned and to hopefully inspire colleagues from within the industry.
It really is possible to achieve outstanding results on a relatively modest budget and we see part of our role as letting people know that it’s easier than ever to incorporate eye-catching displays and graphics into their premises. We want people to be as excited as we are about what can be done.”
The presentation was very well received, but we’re all too aware that not everyone was able to make the trip to Florida to hear it. With this in mind, we’ve decided to share with you some of the key points. It may not be Palm Beach and some autumn sun, but we hope you’ll agree there’s some benefit to getting this information from the comfort of your seat!
Printers and Ink
The Window Film Company uses both UV and latex ink technology to deliver the highest quality results. Both options provide pin sharp accuracy and vibrant colours, also allowing for print to a vast range of media. The UV option makes printing in white ink possible, in turn allowing us to offer a range of striking white print designs. White ink isn’t an option on the latex printer, which uses water based inks.
Media
Using wide format printers, it is possible to print onto an ever increasing range of surfaces. Printing onto frosted or clear window films is a fantastic way of adding a decorative, informative or brand-lead element to your glass, whether it is on street facing windows, internal partitions or standard sized panes. Printing onto optically clear film is a great option for reproducing intricate or complicated designs without the need for cutting or weeding. Printing onto frosted window film will give an extra element of style to your privacy requirements.
It’s also possible to utilise coloured films to generate a quick and easy to achieve new look, while printed or cut vinyl’s can deliver a vibrant display on the internal or external face of glass. Contra Vision print techniques will allow for the creation of one-way graphics, while dual applications of films can deliver style alongside architectural requirements such as solar control, glare reduction, safety and security.
Not just glass…
Decorative upgrades can be created for virtually any surface. Digital wallpaper can be printed and installed to almost any flat surface, making it the perfect solution for transforming not just walls, but other potentially neglected surfaces such as cupboards and doors. Printed boards can be created and affixed for short or long term use, while specialist products such as brick vinyl mean that even exposed brick can be upgraded to feature eye-catching printed graphics.
The basic premise is that if it can be imagined, it can be created. Whatever the vision for your premises or property, utilising window films and printed graphics can help you achieve it. It’s more straightforward and cost effective than you might have thought.
