The chances are you will have at least a vague idea about some of the products we supply and install. Solar control film will reduce heat. Privacy film will stop the nosy neighbours or protect your business from prying eyes. Glare and fade reduction will, well, reduce glare and fading. Printed graphics can be used for office branding, signage or displays. Relatively speaking, these are all pretty self-explanatory products.
However, there are more.
As a Company that prides ourself on being innovative and forward thinking, we are constantly looking to expand our product range, offering high performance products that are useful but that might need a little more explanation. This is a brief guide to some of our more specialist products. We hope you find it useful – you never know when one of these products might come in handy for you or your business…
Graffiti is an unsightly and potentially costly issue, especially when it takes place on windows or glass. It can take a number of forms; spray paint, magic markers and scouring or etching. Whatever the method used, the result is unsightly and at best difficult to clean. At worst the glass could need replacing. An application of anti-graffiti window film will address the issue.
The film is clear, allowing it to be applied to glass without altering the appearance or having an impact on visibility. The film has a specially manufactured coating, meaning that paint or other markings can easily be cleaned away, using nothing more than household cleaning products. In the event of more serious damage, the film acts as a sacrificial barrier and can simply be removed – the damage having been done to the film and not the glass. The film can then be replaced at a fraction of the cost of new glazing. Visit our anti-graffiti page for more information.
One of the most frequent questions we receive involves the insulating properties of window film. The reality is that the majority of window films won’t have anything more than a negligible effect. Penjerex window film is the exception to the rule.
This specialist window film has been developed to deliver low levels of emissivity. Simply put, this means that the film provides excellent thermal insulation, preventing the heat flow through windows by up to 35%. The neutral appearance of the film means this warmth retention is achieved without sacrificing the view in or out of the glass. In addition to being effective during colder months, the film also provides solar control benefits during the warmer times of year; helping to cut down excess heat by up to 50%. By providing both insulation and solar control, an application of Penjerex window film can reduce the strain on heating and cooling systems, reducing energy bills and your carbon footprint. For more details, visit our dedicated Penjerex page online.
Amber 81 is a high performance product, designed for use in situations when high levels of UV protection are required. As the name suggests, the film is amber in colour and it’s this property that provides the UV protection, blocking UV light into the low visible light region.
This film is ideal for use in research laboratories, photography labs and clean rooms. It is also suitable for providing protection to those with photosensitivity or other skin related conditions. This film is available on a supply only or fully installed basis, but when using this product for medical purposes it is important to always seek professional advice. More details about Amber 81 are available online.
The Window Film Company is an accredited supplier and installer of Madico bomb-blast protection film and attachment systems; recognised as among the best and most reliable products in this field. These products are intended for locations that face the possibility or threat of an explosion, with a range of different systems available for different threats, locations and situations.
Attachment systems work by anchoring the window film to the window frame so that in the event of an explosion, the system holds both the film and the window in place, mitigating the potential impact of the blast.
Blast mitigation is a serious issue and it is of vital importance that the correct solution is provided for each individual set of circumstances. These can vary due to the type of building, the design of the windows and the type of threat faced, so we always recommend contacting us directly to discuss your specific situation. The Window Film Company’s trained team of experts can then provide advice as to the best course of action for your project, so for further information, please check out our dedicated online resources or call a mamber of the team on 01494 794477.
