Here at The Window Film Company we were proud to play a major part in an extensive office branding and fit-out project. By installing products to deliver privacy and solar control along with a host of eye-catching and memorable printed graphics, the office was transformed into a professional, welcoming and inspirational workspace.
This project, undertaken over a number of weeks, provided an opportunity for the provision for an extensive range of products and solutions, with each delivering a stylish and effective result.
The office is positioned on the ground floor, with a number of windows providing a welcome source of natural light as well as a view to the exterior. Unfortunately, the windows also provided the opportunity for passers-by to snatch a view of the inside of the office and to maintain confidentiality, this had to be prevented.
It was agreed that a one-way solution was preferable, with Contra Vision privacy film the chosen product. The film was applied to the internal face of the glass and from the outside appears to be a solid white. The inside facing side of the film is black, but the eye is drawn instead to the hundreds of tiny perforations in the film. The human eye automatically “joins the dots” and delivers a view to the exterior.
As in any building with windows, solar gain can be an issue. Heat enters the building through the glass and left unchecked will continue to do so throughout the day. The inevitable outcome is a build-up of heat and an uncomfortable environment for those inside. An application of window film prevents the excess heat by reflecting away a percentage of the sun’s energy, outperforming blinds or curtains by not allowing it to enter the premises.
The film chosen for this aspect of the project was Optiview 05, a high performance solar control film that reduces excess heat by 85% while also cutting out 94% of glare. During daylight hours the view to the exterior is maintained, while the outside face takes on a stylish and contemporary reflective appearance. As with the Contra Vision, the film was applied to the internal face of the glass and, once installed, was effective immediately.
Printed graphics were required throughout the office, in a number of locations. Printed digital wallpaper was used on the walls in the main office area, meeting rooms and breakout area to create a bespoke, inspirational and professional look throughout.
Iconic images including Usain Bolt and FA Cup Final celebrations were used alongside custom created designs to deliver eye-catching and bright displays in the open plan premises. The graphics included a large mural in the break-out room, taking the form of a serene forest scene, creating a calming and relaxing area for staff to enjoy their breaks.
To give you a better idea of exactly how the graphics looked, we’ve created a short video. You can view it by clicking below:
