A TAIL OF MANIFESTATION...

Simply put, manifestation is required to help make glass more visible. By making glass doors or partitions easier to see, the likelihood of accidents is greatly reduced and The Window Film Company are experienced in the creation and installation of manifestation of all shapes and sizes.

It is a legal requirement that glass in certain positions or of a certain size has manifestation applied, with the law also stating the minimum coverage and the sections of the glass that need to be covered. The guidelines also dictate that the manifestation chosen should provide a suitable contrast between the glass itself and the background, but apart from these stipulations, the manifestation can take virtually any form.

This means that manifestation provides building owners with a chance to give their glazing a bit of personality, an option recently taken up by the Basildon dogs trust. Requiring manifestation throughout their facility, they decided they wanted to add to the canine feel of the premises and provided a design featuring a number of different dogs with which to create the manifestation.

With the artwork agreed, the next task was to decide on the film type. Frostbrite frosted film is a very popular choice for manifestation as the sandblasted, acid etched look it delivers gives a very professional and impressive finish, whilst also delivering the necessary contrast between the glass and the background.  Frostbrite is a durable and long lasting film, another reason for its popularity, whilst it can also be printed upon or computer cut to create bespoke designs.

On this occasion, it was agreed that the design would be cut from the film and with the artwork checked and a proof agreed, The Window Film Company’s in-house design team set about preparing the manifestation. The film was computer cut to deliver a perfect reproduction of the supplied artwork, before being hand weeded to ensure the best possible finish.

With the manifestation created, the film was fitted by one of The Window Film Company’s installation teams. Operating nationwide and boasting a vast amount of experience, the fitters were able to fit the 60 linear metres with the minimum of fuss, leaving the glass with an impressive and personalised feature, whilst also meeting the necessary manifestation legislation.
