Don't give in to glare...

As Autumn continues to turn into winter, the warmth of summer can quickly feel like a distant memory. However, whilst the sun might not feel as warm, its strength can cause unwanted issues such as fading and glare all year round. An application of window film can help address both issues, without impacting on the view or natural light levels.

Glare

The lower position of the winter sun can lead to glare, which can quickly become uncomfortable and unpleasant. Glare can lead to eye strain and can make it difficult to focus on screens or paperwork, to read or even to enjoy a conversation. An application of window film can cut down glare by up to 80%, instantly filtering out the harshest of the sunlight and creating a more comfortable environment for your workplace or home.

Anti-glare films are available in a range of finishes, providing a range of aesthetic appearances as well as performance levels. The most effective products are reflective films, whilst other films with a more neutral appearance are also available. Whatever your choice, the film is immediately effective, cost efficient and allows you to enjoy the views and natural light afforded by windows, without the unwanted distraction and discomfort caused by glare.

Fading

Like glare, fading is a year-round concern. The process is caused by three main factors; heat, light and UV rays. Whilst heat isn’t such a concern during the cooler months, UV rays (the main contributing factor) and light continue to stream through glass whatever the season, slowly but surely causing upholstery, soft furnishing, flooring, carpets and equipment to fade.

The majority of window films supplied and installed by The Window Film Company will cut out up to 99% of UV rays, rejecting and filtering the harmful ultra violet rays. There are a range of films to choose from, each with a different appearance, but each providing effective and immediate fade protection.

Clear UV is our specialist film that cuts out 99.8% of UV rays whilst remaining virtually undetectable to the naked eye. This film, often referred to as “museum film” is ideal for situations where fading is a concern, but protecting the view from both sides of the glass is important. Shopfronts and display cases are frequently occurring examples.

Both glare and fade solutions are available on a supplied and installed basis, with The Window Film Company's teams of fully trained and qualified fitters operating throughout the country.
