Fading is caused by three main factors. These are UV light, visible light and heat and with sunlight streaming through windows, they combine to fade fabrics, furnishings, flooring, artwork as well as stock or other valuable equipment. An application of anti-fade window film will slow down the process considerably, providing a layer of valuable protection.
Anti-fade films work by blocking out up to 99.8% of the sun’s harmful UV rays, whilst also helping to maintain a moderate and comfortable temperature. This kind of UV protection film is available in a range of finishes, with each film offering a different appearance as well as a different level of performance.
A popular choice continues to be The Window Film Company’s Clear UV window film. Often referred to as museum film, this optically clear product is virtually undetectable when applied to glass, whilst blocking 99.8% of UV rays. This allows an unrestricted view from both sides of the glass, whilst still delivering fade mitigation.
For the ultimate protection, The Window Film Company also offer films that will reduce the heat and manage light levels, guarding against the three main contributing factors to fading. These films are available in a range of appearances, with a finish to ensure that aesthetic requirements are met, as well as functional ones.
Not all films are suitable for all glass types, so speaking to one of our trained account managers is advised. Not only will they be able to suggest the most suitable fade-solution for your situation, but they will also be able to supply details on costings as well as fully working samples – allowing you to experience the film before deciding to progress.
