Football and film

When it comes to football, the focus for most is usually on the on-field activity, but a lot of work goes on behind the scenes to ensure that facilities are up top scratch and The
Window Film Company are happy to have played a part in helping a number of high profile clubs ensure their stadiums and facilities are fit for the Premier League.

Advances in film and print technology mean that full colour graphics can be reproduced in pin sharp full colour for application onto a wide range of surfaces, so when Championship high-flyers Watford approached The Window Film Company for a way of adding bespoke designs to a number of the surfaces throughout their training complex, it was possible to offer a number of stylish solutions.

Digital wallpaper is an innovative product that can be printed to feature the design of your choice. The product boasts a paste free application process and can be applied to virtually any flat surface, allowing for the decoration of previously ignored locations such as cupboards and doors. Watford FC supplied a range of high resolution images and graphics, some of which were used to cover two very tall, large walls, giving the complex an inspirational and professional feel.

Other smaller touches were also delivered, including the addition of the club's badge onto shutters using coloured vinyl. A relatively minor detail compared to some of the other work, but one that served to enhance the appearance of the facility, indicating professionalism and attention to detail.

The players’ lounge is one of the most intriguing locations in a football stadium. Everyone is aware of its existence, but only the chosen few are ever granted access. Fitters from The Window Film Company were (briefly!) afforded the privilege of entry to the players’ lounge at Everton’s Goodison Park ground when the Premier League club ordered the installation of a decorative window film to several of the windows within. Window film can provide a wide range of functional uses including solar control, fade and glare reduction and safety, but it also provides a wide range of decorative options. The film chosen by Everton was a film featuring a printed geometric pattern that once applied made more of a feature of the existing glazing, adding to the impressive look and feel of the lounge.

By printing on or computer cutting window film, The Window Film Company is able to create eye-catching branding elements for walls and windows. When newly promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers took the decision to upgrade their training ground, an integral part of the design was the inclusion of the clubs iconic logo on a number of windows.

Having been approached for a suggestion, The Window Film Company created the logo from Frostbrite frosted film. Frostbrite is a durable, long lasting and versatile film that once applied gives glazing the appearance of sandblasted or acid etched glass. The finish is stylish and contemporary, providing an attractive way of incorporating branding throughout  premises.

These three jobs are an example of the variety of products that The Window Film Company can deliver and are the most recent examples of window film and associated products being used in the sporting arena, with The Window Film Company having also carried out work at the iconic Lords cricket ground and the headquarters of the LTA (Lawn Tennis Association).
