Live to the nation!

It’s been another interesting couple of weeks for us here at The Window Film Company, with our TV debut and a prestigious business award a reminder that no two days in the business are ever the same. Our TV appearance came on the phenomenally successful QVC shopping channel, whilst the award came at the 2015 Thames Valley Business Magazine Awards in Reading.

Lights, Camera, Action!

Having forged a successful relationship with John Lewis, who now stock a range of our popular Frostbrite frosted films; we were recently approached by QVC to take part in a series of live shows. Micky Calcott, one of our Directors, was the star of the show, using the two slots to deliver a live fitting demonstration whist also providing product details such as potential uses, cleaning advice and how to achieve a perfect finish.

The shows both proved to be very popular, with colleagues back at our Buckinghamshire HQ all suitably impressed with what was a nerveless display under the bright lights of the studio.  The Window Film Company will be back on your screens early in 2016, so keep your eyes peeled if you’d like to see us in live action!

Business Award

Being invited to feature on QVC was a nice way to be assured that our reputation for quality products is as well established and we had a further boost when we learned that we had been recognised at the 2015 Thames Valley Business Magazine Awards.

The Window Film Company was awarded third place in the SME of the year category at a gala event held at Reading FC’s Madejski Stadium. In speaking of the two different, but equally satisfying episodes, Director Micky Calcott explained:

“As a Company that offers a range of different products it feels quite fitting that the past couple of weeks have been so varied. Receiving recognition at the business awards was pleasing and it comes on the back of a really busy year for us. We’ve moved to new headquarters, invested in substantial new equipment, entered into a number of exciting partnerships and grown our team. It’s been busy and has taken a great deal of effort from myself and my colleagues, but it’s all been worth it.

I’m used to presenting – I spoke at the International Window Film Conference in Nevada earlier in the year and regularly deliver a CPD presentation to architects throughout the UK, but “performing” in front of the QVC cameras was a completely different experience. I had a lot to do; fitting as well as explaining how the film works and answering the presenter’s questions, so I didn’t have a chance to be nervous. I was proud to have been given the opportunity to showcase our products on such an established platform and am looking forward to heading back to the studio in 2016!”
