Making the most of Manifestation

Legislation dictates that glass over a certain size requires markings known as manifestation. This makes the glass visible and therefore helps prevent accidents. The Window Film Company offer a range of bespoke manifestation options to deliver a solution tailored to your exact needs.

The legislation surrounding manifestation is very clear. The markings should appear on the glass at two levels; between 850mm and 1000mm and between 1400mm and 1600mm above the floor, and should take the form of a decorative feature such as broken lines or continuous bands, at least 50mm high or a logo or motif at least 150mm high (repeated if on a glazed screen).

Whilst the regulations about the location and minimum size of manifestation are clear, the appearance and design of the markings can be customised to provide a bespoke addition to glass, ensuring a finish that is in keeping with the existing or desired aesthetics of your building.
Manifestation can take the form of logos, images, text or patterns. The only requirement is that it provides a contrast with the appearance of the glass and the background.
