Building Regulations indicate that when required, manifestation markings should feature at two levels (between 850mm and 1000mm and 1400mm and 1600mm) and that the marking should be at least 150mm high for a logo or similar design or at least 50mm high if a linear design. Apart from these specifications, the appearance of the manifestation is entirely down to the end user, allowing for the creation and usage of bespoke manifestation solutions.
Since being founded in 1998 The Window Film Company has created and installed hundreds of thousands of metres of manifestation, utilising an in-house graphics and print department to create custom solutions for a range of clients.
Standard dots and squares
The Window Film Company stock and install a wide range of standard designs, including dots, squares and solid bands. Created specifically to meet manifestation legislation, there are 20 standard designs available; ideal for situations when the requirement is simply to comply with regulations.
Logos and brand elements
Manifestation is the ideal opportunity to incorporate branding elements into glass and glazing. The Window Film Company can print logos in full colour or provide a “cut” effect, with any logo or design cut from frosted film. This option ensures legislation is met, whilst also reinforcing branding and helping to give premises a stylish and professional appearance.
Bespoke designs
It’s not just logos that can be utilised to deliver impressive manifestation solutions. With top of the range printing and computer cutting facilities, The Window Film Company can deliver printed or cut manifestation to match any design you choose. Shapes, patterns and text can all be used to create an eye-catching addition to glass, creating an impressive feature out of a regulatory requirement. Designs can be precision cut or printed in full colour onto a range of films, delivering the exact look and finish to suit your needs and surroundings.
Privacy
As long as it meets the minimum requirements, manifestation can take almost any form or size and this can often lead to clients combining a requirement for manifestation with a need for privacy. One of the most common locations for manifestation is on glass doors and partitions, which are used extensively in modern offices. Whilst glass partitions are sleek and stylish in appearance, they don’t offer any privacy. By applying a band of film to part of the glass it is possible to deliver an element of privacy whilst also meeting manifestation requirements.
A plain band of frosted film will give an area of glass the appearance of acid etched or sandblasted glass, preventing vision from both sides of the glazing. It also provides the ideal surface on which to print, allowing for the reproduction of logos, patterns, designs or text – the only limit is your imagination…
